Day 8: Luxembourg Gardens, Eiffel Tower Picnics, and Scott’s Last Day
Our apartment is roughly five blocks from the Luxembourg so we wandered that way for the morning. Leaves changing colors and flowers still blooming, a place that we know we will spend many afternoons reading in.
We made our way to the Eiffel Tower, with a quick stop to see the L’Hôtel national des Invalides. Now a museum and the burial site of Napoleon Bonaparte, it was previously a hospital and memorial for returning veterans.
Late afternoon was spent searching for picnic supplies and finding the perfect spot under the Eiffel Tower. We ate and waited for the tower to light up. Many photos and videos were taken, but we agreed that none of them does it true justice.
Day 9: Recovering
Scott left early morning to get back to classes. He will meet us in Prague in a couple weeks, which we are extremely excited about.
We spent the rest of the day reading, watching movies, doing laundry, and getting groceries. We were still in a cheese and bread coma from the night before I think. A day of rest before more adventures.
Every day sounds amazing. Thanks for the updates, stories and pictures!
Looks like my fellow blogger is having the time of her life! I miss you and I hope you are having a fabulous time over there!
