Soooo jet lag has officially kicked both of our asses. Sleeping until noon is a must when you don’t fall asleep until 5 am. Luckily, Spain accommodates well with late lunches, siestas, and dinner no sooner than 8 pm. Blogging has been slow since we will only be here for five days, and it seems necessary to soak up as much as we can before we travel to Paris. We’ll be in Paree for 3 weeks (so excited!), plenty of time to spend a little of each day writing about our daily adventures. Also, the internet here is ridiculously slow and miserable (only 47 hours to download a movie from iTunes….). But here’s what we’ve done our first three days!
Day 1: Food and Sangria.
Brie and caramelized onion topped fococcia with white wine after checking in and walking around the neighborhood. Needless to say, we fell in love with Barcelona immediately.
We spent the afternoon nesting and planning how to spend our couple days in Spain. Dinner included tapas and sangria. Lots of sangria. You know you had plenty the night before, when you show up the next evening and the waiter seats you and says “You’ll have sangria, right?” Yes, yes we will…
Day 2: Plaza, Park, and Pizza

Made our way to Parc De La Ciudadella. We stopped along the way in Plaça Reial for lunch and local people watching. We spent the afternoon walking around the park and reading in the grass.
The evening was spent relaxing and reading after some of the best pizza I’ve ever had (Andrea would be jealous).
Day 3: Picasso Museum and Street Wandering
While touring the Picasso Museum, we learned he did the illustrations for a local bar, which we randomly stumbled upon on our way to Zara by mistake. Which was a unexpected surprise. Also unexpected, Carly getting pick pocketed by a guy telling us not to go in and get a drink at said bar. We spent the rest of the afternoon wandering through the streets.
On tonight’s agenda: Indian food and jazz club for drinks. Wish us luck.
Sounds like my kind of vacation. Lot’s of Sangria and reading in the grass!!!
Carly got pick pocketed?!
Luckily only 25 euros! I was concerned what she might do to them if we saw them again tho.
Haha! Don’t mess with Carly!
