Day 5: Adios Barcelona, Bonjour Paris
We left Barcelona early Friday morning, taking the EuroRail to Paris. It was a six hour train ride, which felt longer than any of the flights we had taken on our way here. Needless to say, we were glad to get that out of the way.
We arrived in Paris late Friday afternoon and spent the rest of the evening unpacking and nesting in our apartment for the next three weeks. It is perfect. While waiting for Scott to fly in from Oxford, we went out for a true French meal at Au Café de Paris: onion soup, fries, and white wine. A beige dinner to die for.
After Scott’s arrival, we walked around Paris and met up with some of his friends for drinks. Which translates into lots and lots of fantastic wine. They had lived or were living in Paris now, so conversation included lots of questions and suggestions on how to best spend our time here. Day 5 ended the morning of Day 6, finally crashing into our apartment at 6am. The best welcome to Paris.
